At the end of April Jane sang in Rome at the Basilica of St Paul’s Without the Walls….
‘I have just had the most amazing experience singing with the Parliament Choir in Rome’.
Simon Over, our Artistic Director has wanted to accomplish this project for many years and last Saturday in front of an audience of over 2,500 including cardinals, Archbishops and Ambassadors he conducted the Southbank Sinfonia (of which he is the Founder) and The Parliament Choir and other invited guests, in total over 350 people, to perform Elgar’s The Dream of Gerontius.
It was filmed for Vatican TV so if you want to have a listen visit…..https://youtu.be/cBB0fgmEXMc One of life’s very special moments….

Jane, what an incredible experience! It was a stunning listen and beautiful watch – thank you so much for posting the details. I expect that you were all emotionally and physically elated, and exhausted, by the time you returned. What a fabulous achievement, especially for Simon Over whose ‘dream’ was realised. Fabulous, well done!
It was truly amazing and in fact I am going to see a the Bach Choir performance tomorrow at the Southbank to relive the Dream…!
